Yesterday afternoon we did a guided tour around the village of Moie.

This morning, while the coordinators held the usual project coordination meetings, the rest of the teachers carried out educational proposals with students from Marthin Luther King Elementary School and Gianni Rodari (Kindergarten).

Maria Joana has gone to the Gianni Rodari children’s center, where she has developed an activity with children related to the Wangari Maathai project we are doing at our school. Thanks to a previous job of coordination we had done together with the Italian teachers, pupils had already heard of Wangari and had done activities related to her.

We have told the tale “Wangari and the trees of Peace”. Then, we’ve seen images of our four-year-old children performing our project activities, and we’ve ended up planting sunflower seeds, which we had brought from Majorca. On the other hand, they have given us other seeds that we will sow when we return back home.

Cesar, the teacher of Physical Education, has done three consecutive sessions with 3rd graders. He’s has shown to the Italian teachers and students his involvement in the project with the help of a presentation you can see here.

Later, he has taught and implemented typical games of our land in a nearby park.

All in all, it has been a great experience of brotherhood and cooperation.
